UBC PATHS invites you to the second Speaker Series event of this academic year, happening on January 14, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Michael Kingsmill Forum in the UBC Nest. Our distinguished speaker will present his most recent research findings, providing attendees with a chance to partake in engaging discussions, pose questions, and network with fellow students and professionals.

Dr. A. Jon Stoessl is a Professor of Neurology at the University of British Columbia and Editor-in-Chief of Movement Disorders. With over 300 publications and more than 31,000 citations, his research uses positron emission tomography to explore the brain’s chemical changes in Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Stoessl previously held the Canada Research Chair in Parkinson’s Disease and was Head of Neurology and Co-Director of the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, as well as President of the World Parkinson Coalition.
