Get to Know Us!

UBC PATHS (Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Targeted Hope and Support) is a network of  students dedicated to supporting the Parkinson’s and Alzheimer's community. As an established Alma Mater Society club operating out of the University of British Columbia Vancouver campus, we are a nonprofit organization built on the three main pillars of philanthropy, outreach, and education.

Our purpose is emphasized in our mission statement:

  • Engage UBC students in philanthropic initiatives

  • Enrich the lives of people affected by Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Disease

  • Explore the paths of research towards a cure

01

Engage: Raising Awareness

Through engaging workshops, events, and awareness campaigns, we inspire UBC students to become advocates for neurological health and wellness. By raising awareness and promoting understanding, we aim to reduce stigma and foster empathy towards those living with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.

02

Enrich: Supporting the Community

Our Enrichment initiatives focus on providing personal support and enhancing the quality of life for individuals impacted by neurodegenerative diseases. Through our fundraising activities and Community Outreach Program at Point Grey Private Hospital, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.

Explore: Empowering Through Education

In addition to our support programs, we prioritize education through initiatives like our Speaker Series, annual PATHS to a Cure Neuroscience Research Conference, and Case Competition. These platforms not only raise awareness about neurodegenerative diseases but also foster dialogue, connect students with experts in the field, and encourage academic and research exploration.
